Without the support of wheat, corn prices on the Euronext could not recover and continued to fall slightly. The futures on the CBoT also ended Friday with losses. The March date recorded a loss of $8.75 US cents/bushel and thus costs the equivalent of 280.27 euros/ton. Export sales gave no support to prices and even came in below market participants' expectations at 260,000 tons. Maize sowing in Argentina has recently slowed significantly. Around 1.6 million hectares have been cultivated to date. In the previous year, progress at the same time was 2.8 million tons. Experts reckon with a total area of almost 8 million hectares.
