Maize in Paris rose again yesterday and ended the holiday trade with a settlement of 351.25 euros/t. On the previous Wednesday, the contracts still had to fall sharply, the daily loss in the front month was 12.75 euros/t. The German Maize Committee reported this week in an interim report that the planned cultivation areas are ordered with a few exceptions. The stocks are doing well, especially in the south-west. From France it has been heard that one or the other area intended for corn cultivation has now been planted with sunflowers. On the CBoT, corn futures fell on both Wednesday and Thursday. Traders were particularly disappointed by the weak export bookings. Pre-market shows slight gains at the moment.
