The news situation for corn remains thin. Therefore, after Friday's gains yesterday, wheat contracts again followed the wheat lead. The front month of March 23 lost EUR 2.75 per ton and closed the first trading day of the new week at EUR 287.75. The specifications at the CBoT were also characterized by falling prices. Here, too, the signs were red and the most traded March date closed at 652.75 US cents/bu (239.20 euros/t). At the end of the week the export figures provided a boost, but yesterday's weekly export shipments were largely disappointing. In the first week of January, US exporters shipped just 392,000 tons of corn for export, which is 40 percent less than in the previous week and even almost two-thirds less than in the first week of January 2022. That prices fell less than, for example in wheat, is also due to the slightly weaker US dollar.
