Corn on the Euronext/Matif went north for one euro in the March and June contracts. With a closing price of EUR 298.00 in the March future, Mais was able to increase once again. Prices are stable on the local cash markets. Demand is manageable, as is supply. Dutch buyers are increasingly on the move in the north-west, while many feed mixers in Germany also use Poland to cover their needs, since the prices here are noticeably lower. Although the corn contracts in Chicago on the CBoT started trading yesterday with a green sign, they were unable to maintain their gains in the course of trading and ended the day mostly in the red. The industry association Anec (Brazil) announced that it expects an export volume of 2.3 million tons of corn in February. So far, around 8 percent more corn exports were expected, the faltering first corn harvest and later corn sowing led to the correction. Pre-market, the corn contracts on the eCBoT are again in red today.
