The measure is full: Rosselkhoznadzor threatens closure of grain silos

The Russian phytosanitary service announced yesterday evening that it is possible to temporarily close 30 grain loading stations in Krasnodar and Rostov.
The Rosselkhoznadzor authority had already warned retailers in the past few weeks to pay more attention to grain quality after major international customers repeatedly complained about falling quality standards.
Now the measure is probably full and the authority threatens the closure of 30 loading stations on the grounds that one must improve the hygiene standards. Which stations are closed and how much it is exactly was not yet known. The closure can also be arranged only by courts.
Exceptionally many smaller shippers noticed negatively on the controls. In mid-September, Rosselkhoznadzor had already announced stricter controls, but also said that it would not hinder exports.
This, together with a stronger ruble exchange rate, had already slowed Russian grain exports.
