In the middle of the week, the prices for corn on the Euronext/Matif are also showing a red sign and are thus continuing their downward trend. The front month of March 23 closed at EUR 307.50 per tonne, EUR 4 lower than on Tuesday. In particular, the better prospects for an extension of the grain agreement are depressing price discovery. With continued high imports in the European Union, however, activities on the spot markets are generally calm. The CBoT also went south, although the price losses here due to an announced export deal for 1.9 million tons of corn to Mexico limited the losses. US ethanol production has fallen over the past week. At the same time, inventories fell by a significant 900,000 barrels. Premarket CBoT corn contracts continue their price decline today.
