More corn expected in the EU

On Euronext/Matif, the corn prices were unable to break away from the bearish guidelines and recorded uniform losses. The end of November recorded a loss of 0.25 euros/ton to 201.75 euros/ton. Corn in Chicago, on the other hand, was stronger on Friday and made it into the green zone shortly before the end of trading. The main reason for the bullish movement is the up to double-digit profits on the soy market. The December contract gained $1.50 US cents/bushel and therefore costs the equivalent of 179.49 euros per ton. The EU Commission experts have slightly raised their expectations for corn production, as with wheat, compared to their previous estimate to 59.9 million tonnes (+100,000 tonnes). In our neighboring country France, harvesting work in the corn fields is currently continuing. Market participants report that 15% of the inventory is still outstanding.
