More lively demand for rapeseed meal

As a result of positive developments in crude oil and competing vegetable oils, rapeseed prices increased yesterday on the first trading day of the new week. A revived demand for rapeseed meal is also supporting price developments. The demand from agriculture for protein feed has recently increased again. At the same time, the mills' supply is low, and the quantities offered are tight, especially for short-term deliveries. Accordingly, manufacturers are also demanding higher prices. Prompt lots were traded at around 338 euros/t last week, 27 euros per tonne higher than the previous week. The overall firmer prices are also reflected in higher price demands for compound feed. At the ICE in Winnipeg, Canola was able to make up a large part of its losses from Friday and closed with a gain of 13.10 Can dollars at 673.10 Can dollars/t (460.54 euros/t).
