Morocco needs to import significantly less wheat

French wheat exporters expect Morocco to import three million tonnes of wheat this year. That's what they said today in a presentation in Rabat.
North Africa was able to bring in an extraordinarily large grain harvest this year. Morocco had harvested 10.3 million tonnes of cereals, including 4.91 million tonnes of common wheat, 2.42 million tonnes of durum wheat and 2.92 million tonnes of durum.
In 2017, Morocco imported 4.2 million tonnes of common wheat, 2.1 million tonnes of corn and 850,000 tonnes of durum wheat, as well as 440,000 tonnes of barley.
