The New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX) today announced that as of July 2018 it intends to extend its trading hours for milk derivatives in order to facilitate higher international demand for these financial products.
The exchange times are then open until 10 pm (1000 GMT), the start time remains unchanged. This change also allows traders in Europe to participate in trading during their office hours. Here in Germany it is 11:00 clock in the morning. Asian and African cash market participants are also opposed to this change.
For a year now, the volume of milk derivatives traded on the New Zealand Stock Exchange has risen by 57% and 208 companies have registered during this period. The stock exchange wants to work with market participants and clearers in the same way as with software companies and data vendors. At the beginning of 2018, further cooperation projects will be presented.
The EEX in Leipzig also endeavors to cooperate with the NZX.
