Oil prices in descent - pressure on Opec increases

The price of a barrel of the North Sea Brent falls by $ 1.71 compared to the previous day and is currently at $ 50.47. The WTI price is also falling. Oil prices continued their descent on Friday following the Corona crisis. With a weekly loss of currently around 14 percent, the sharpest discounts have been emerging for several years. The pressure on the major oil producing countries to further reduce their production is therefore increasing rapidly.
On Friday morning, a barrel (159 liters) of the North Sea Brent cost $ 50.47. That was $ 1.73 less than the previous day. The price of American crude oil of the WTI variety fell by $ 1.47 to $ 45.62. Crude oil prices are currently at their lowest levels since the turn of 2018/2019.
