On the Matif, rapeseed contracts were able to recover on Friday and increased across all dates. On the cash markets in Germany, rapeseed business has calmed down again. Buyers are currently hardly active on the market, both for short-term deliveries and for later dates. The plentiful harvest and the volatile developments on the Matif are also causing restraint among sellers. The spot market prices have fallen significantly on a weekly basis. Logistics continues to be the biggest problem child in the industry and creates additional problems for the trade and loading of rapeseed. Canola in Winnipeg is also up, but price caps are capped by continued good crop conditions. Soya rose significantly ahead of the long weekend. Agricultural consultancy StoneX has revised its forecast for US soybean production slightly upwards, but it is around 1 million tons below the last WASDE forecast. Brazilian soy exports in August 2022 are slightly lower than in August of the previous year. Due to a US holiday, the CBoT will be closed today.
