While the warehouse keepers in Holland, the northeast of France and Belgium are now disposing of their excess fries raw material in the feed trough and biogas plants, there are hardly any domestic potatoes from the old harvest on the market for table potatoes. The potato market in Germany remains divided in two. Because the excess quantities of the old fries raw material are now flowing away quickly, it is now hoped that the next season will not be as heavily loaded as initially feared. The yields of the first early potatoes are lower than in the previous year. Partly it was a late frost, partly the drought, which suggests that the yields will not be particularly large in 2020. However, in the past few weeks, the frit factories have stored so much fries in deep-freeze storage that a market fantasy cannot prevail.
