Pakistan buys 340,000 tons of wheat on the world market

A government agency in Pakistan reportedly bought around 340,000 tons of wheat yesterday in an international tender.
The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) agreed a price of 284 USD / ton c & f for this. Trading company GTCS is the supplier for the entire quantity. Other providers could not be won for lower offers.
GTCS wants to deliver 120,000 tons itself, the rest of the amount is bought from competitors. It was agreed that the wheat would land in Pakistan by January 31st. The first partial delivery should be made 14 days after receipt of the bank guarantee.
The Pakistani government decided in June to buy wheat on the world market in order to curb the sharp rise in the price of staple foods.
With the last wheat tender on October 7th, Pakistan imports 330,000 tons of wheat at a price of USD 278.5 / tonne c & f.
