Pakistan: Russian wheat was the cheapest

According to traders, the cheapest offer in Pakistan's tender for the purchase of 300,000 tonnes of wheat was $ 280.90 / tonne c & f and relates to wheat of Russian origin. Government buyer Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) is still reviewing offers and no purchase has been reported, traders said. The lowest offer is said to have been submitted by the trading house Aston for 100,000 tons. Two other trading houses also took part in the tender and, according to the traders, offered 100,000 tons of wheat with optional origins. Agrocorp reportedly offered $ 285.38 per tonne of C&F and CHS $ 288.00. TCP is looking for wheat of worldwide origin. Shipping must be in Pakistan by January 31, 2021. The tender is the latest in a series launched by TCP to increase local wheat stocks. A number of private sector wheat purchases have also been reported by Pakistani importers.
