Market analysts in the US doubt that China will even need to import as many agricultural goods as it has allegedly promised in the first part of a trade agreement with the US.
It states that China will import between 40 and 50 million US agricultural goods over the next two years. That would be twice as much as in 2017 before the start of the trade war.
Beijing has not yet confirmed this ambitious sum. In a press release on Friday, it merely stated that it plans to significantly increase imports of US agricultural goods.
