Pig price for slaughter remains today at 1.47 kg SG

The supply of pigs ready for slaughter is declining in large parts of Europe. In the midsummer temperatures of the past few weeks, the increases were noticeably lower. The average slaughter weights also fell in the reporting week. As a result, prices are already rising in southern Europe.
There is also a north-south divide in this country. In the north the supply of pigs ready for slaughter is still sufficient. In the south the numbers are rather limited. The summer holidays are already coming to an end in some federal states. The slaughterhouse Tönnies was able to gradually increase the number of slaughterers after a four-week closure. In Denmark, Danish Crown will probably be allowed to slaughter again from tomorrow.
