At today's auction of the Internet Schweinebörse, 1,600 pigs in 10 lots out of a total of 1,600 pigs in 10 lots were sold at an average price of 2.08 euros/kg SG (that's + 2 cents compared to the last auction). The trading range was between EUR 2.055 and EUR 2.10. The market is characterized by the pre-Christmas mood. The demand on the meat market has picked up again and at the same time the supply of live meat is falling. This noticeably takes the pressure off the market, even if the slaughterhouses are not always ready to accept surcharges. However, higher prices have to be paid, especially for additional batches. Accordingly, the producers' hope of a further price increase in the VEZG listing is growing.
