Trading on the CBoT only started again today, which is why there was no impetus from the USA in one direction or the other for the contracts on the Euronext/Matif. With little turnover, the majority of contracts increased on the first day of trading. The front month of March-23 rose by 0.50 euros/t to 296 euros/t. Between Christmas and New Year, however, corn prices in Paris rose by a good 6 euros per tonne. At 12.5 million tons, Ukrainian corn exports were 15.7 percent higher than at the same time last year. Overall, however, Ukrainian grain exports are lower than in the previous year. Due to the war, grain exports were down 29.8 percent compared to December 30, 2021. Trading on the cash markets in Germany between the holidays was quiet. Yesterday, corn for delivery in March was quoted at EUR 330/t postage paid in southern Oldenburg.
