Rapeseed and canola with red signs

Rapeseed fell noticeably on Tuesday. The front month of November lost 6.50 euros/t with a closing price of 419.75 euros, February also closed lower at 437.00 euros/t and a daily loss of 7.00 euros/t. The weaker trends for palm and soy oil in particular caused the setbacks. Canola in Winnipeg also trended in the red after the holiday break, dragging European rapeseed prices south. Europe imported 1.11 million tons of rapeseed in the first 15 calendar weeks, compared to 1.7 million tons last year. Ukraine remains the main supplier. Prices in spot markets are falling both at the producer level and at the wholesale level. As in previous weeks, sales on the local markets remained manageable overall.
