Rapeseed cannot benefit from the friendly market environment

Yesterday, rapeseed prices in Europe were unable to benefit from the friendly mood in the soy complex and competing vegetable oils. The February contract closed with a loss of EUR 3.40 per ton at EUR 431.50/t. Meanwhile, turnover on the cash markets remains low; prices also moved slightly downwards at the start of the week, with regional differences. Prompt lots free of charge at Ölmühle Hamburg are quoted at 429 euros/t. The price on the Mittelland Canal is 428 euros/t and in Neuss it is 439 euros/t. Canola in Winnipeg gained very significantly on yesterday's trading day and climbed by Can$19.50 to $716.70 per tonne in the January contract. Converted, the contract is quoted at 476.61 euros/t. Producers in this country remain satisfied with the development of their winter rapeseed stocks. The rain showers of the last few days are hindering further winter sowing in many countries, but the rapeseed stocks were able to benefit from the rainfall.
