Rapeseed oil prices fell slightly

Rapeseed lost again on Friday. The front month of February closed 8.50 euros lower at a closing price of 422.25 euros/t. From the perspective of the first trading week of the new year, a total of 15.75 euros/t went south. Trading activities on the stock exchange and on the cash markets are low. The producers' motivation is currently low, and the oil mills continue to be well supplied. Today's protest day in Germany is also likely to severely restrict or even bring to a complete standstill logistics and trade for oilseeds and grain. It should be noted that prices for rapeseed meal have been falling at wholesale level for several days. Rapeseed oil in the port of Rotterdam also recently lost 10 euros/t and is currently quoted at 890 euros/t fob Rotterdam. Canola in Winnipeg also remained true to its downward trend and was trading in the red for the sixth time in a row. In addition to negative guidelines from Europe and the soy complex, Canola is also being burdened by a strike by more than 400 employees in the agricultural group Viterra, who are striking for higher salaries and better working conditions. This puts the effective trading of canola under significant pressure.
