Rapeseed prices are firmer - concerns about Ukrainian deliveries remain

For the second trading day in a row, rapeseed went up yesterday. The most traded November date closes with a plus of 7 euros at 466.25 euros/t. Things remain calm on the rapeseed market in Germany. Pre-contracts ex-harvest are given as a national average of EUR 408-447.50, depending on the region. Prompt deliveries are currently hardly traded. For many importers in Europe it is questionable how the Ukrainian rapeseed imports will continue after July 18th. The harvest forecasts for the country on the Black Sea have recently been euphoric. However, many retailers are wondering whether there will be enough capacity on the rails to ensure on-time deliveries at the probable end of the corridor. Rapeseed meal has recently been quoted inconsistently at the wholesale level, but mostly a little firmer. Canola in Winnipeg was also up yesterday. The weather forecast in the western prairie has not changed, and strikes at important export ports have made it even more difficult, although they have not yet had any serious effects.
