Since the corn cultivation area in North America is expanding more than expected, the CBoT corn futures are losing value again today.
Analysts expect prices to remain under pressure after yesterday's USDA report. The good export demand is currently preventing major losses.
The U.S. agency's report states that US farmers plan to grow nearly 97 million acres of corn. That would be the largest corn acreage to date. Analysts had previously estimated that the acreage would be a good 94 million acres.
Inventories on March 1 were estimated by the USDA at 7.95 million bushels, smaller than expected by the market.
