The majority of corn prices on the Paris stock exchange were in red yesterday, following the guidelines for wheat. In the front month of March, it fell by EUR 1 to EUR 303.00 per ton. As with wheat, there were fewer sales than on other days of this week due to the lack of specifications from the US stock exchanges. Internationally, the market looked at the renewed forecasts of the grain exchange in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The maize sowing is 23.8 percent complete, which roughly corresponds to an area of around 7.3 million hectares. Compared to last week, the difference in sowing progress has increased to 6.2 percent. In Brazil, supporters of the ousted president continue to block important highways. The freight costs in Brazil are thus increasing significantly. Logisticians call for up to 20 percent higher freight rates. In addition, the road blockades are delaying activities in the export ports.
