The tide has turned on the slaughter pig market. The quantities offered are no longer sufficient to meet demand, so some slaughterhouses have had to further reduce their capacities. An easing of the supply situation is currently not to be expected. The stocks are relatively low, and the producers, hoping that prices will continue to rise, are only reluctant to sell. With a view to the easing of the anti-corona measures and the vacation/holiday season, further demand impulses and thus also fixed prices are expected. At the auction of the Internet Schweinebörse this Friday, 1,075 pigs in 10 lots out of 2,035 offered pigs in 13 lots were sold at an average price of 1.94 €/kgSG (that's -5 cents to the last auction). The trading range today was €1.92 to €1.96.
