Compared to the previous week, the slaughter pig market has changed little. Although the supply of live animals has continued to fall, the numbers are still sufficient to meet the weak demand from the slaughterhouses. Accordingly, the battle numbers continue to be significantly lower than in previous years. Due to the current development, the red side hardly allows any discussions about surcharges, while fatteners continue to wait eagerly for rising prices. At today's pig exchange, all lots were sold at a higher average price than last week. At the auction of the internet pig exchange this Friday, 640 pigs were sold in 4 lots out of 640 offered pigs in 4 lots. The average price was 1.95 euros/kg SG. That's 5 cents more than at the last auction. The trading range was between EUR 1.93 and EUR 1.97.
