Rising prices before the USDA report

Corn prices today continued to rise and were approaching a one-year high. The market expected that the today's USDA report will show a lower harvest forecast. Also the prices for soybeans rose for the same reason. It expects a smaller crop due to the heavy rains in the Midwest. The market receives additional assistance through the hope for an early end to the Griechenlandkriese. The euro quoted therefore significantly firmer against the U.S. currency.
