Russia has exported 33.9 million tons of grain in the marketing year 2015/16 (1 July - 30 June). This is an increase of 10.4% for the marketing year 2014/15 (30.7 million tons), according to a spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture told the TASS News Agency.
In particular, 24.6 million tons were exported 2015/16 wheat, 4.2 million tons of barley, 4.7 million tons of maize and 0.3 million tons of other grains.
The earlier forecast by Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev was at a grain export volume of 34-35 million tonnes. Then you would have achieved almost the self-imposed goal.
Russia's Deputy Prime Minister said that it should be in the marketing year 2016/17 to take the lead in the global agricultural exports.
