In Russia, the harvest has begun in the southern regions. It yields were found as to the same time last year. This was announced by the Ministry of agriculture. Russia, one of the largest exporters of the grain, is the second biggest harvest in its post-Soviet history due to more favourable weather conditions. So far, farmers have harvested 364.200 tons of grain on 74.200 hectares. It achieved revenues of 4.91 tons per hectare. Compared to 230.700 tons of grain on 50.800 hectares have been obtained at the same time last year income averaging 4.54 metric tons per hectare.
In Krasnodar, one of the most important regions for grain export via the Black Sea, 193.800 tonnes of grain with average income of 5.38 tons per hectare were harvested. The average income at the same time in the previous year amounted to 5.91 tons per hectare.
The Agriculture Ministry made no details about which types of grain were harvested. Usually, harvesting period begins with barley, before then the wheat harvest will start. Some analysts and traders, it was predicted that the wheat harvest in Russia end of June beginning of July starts.
