Russia: ICAR lowers expectation of grain harvest

The Russian agricultural consultancy IKAR has reduced its forecast of the Russian grain harvest in 2018 from 112.8 million tons to 110 million tons. The forecast for grain exports in the marketing year 2018/19 was reduced from 41 million tonnes to 39.8 million tonnes. The forecast of wheat exports remained unchanged at 32.5 million tonnes.
The estimate of wheat production is 69.6 million tons (previously: 70.8 million tons). For corn, the estimate dropped by 100,000 tonnes to 11.7 million tonnes.
