Russia's wheat harvest 2020 is currently estimated by the Russian agricultural consultancy SovEcon at 81.2 million tons. The previous forecast was 84.4 million tons. The reason for the lower estimate is the drought in the south of the country.
Significant damages that reduce earnings expectations are expected in the Stavropol region. Stavropol is number 3 in output among the wheat growing regions of Russia. SovEcon anticipates the lowest earnings since 2012
