Russian grain exports pick up again

In Russia, the analysts at Sovecon expect grain exports of 2.4 million tons in March. The experts from ICAR are somewhat more pessimistic and expect exports of 2.0 million tons. However, deliveries are currently limited primarily to the fulfillment of existing contracts. New deals are difficult due to the financial sanctions against Russia. The ton is currently trading at $390 US dollars. Fluctuations go as high as $420 US dollars. The scarce availability of ships could also lead to problems in logistics. Many shipping companies and forwarders are hesitant and uncertain about developments on the Black Sea.
