Russian grain exporters fear export restrictions on crops during the football World Cup in June.
In particular, the megacity Rostov-on-Don, from where about 20% of Russian grain exports are handled, is affected. There will be five matches between the 17th of June and the 2nd of July during the month-long tournament.
The experience from the Winter Olympics, which took place in 2014, shows that comprehensive security measures are to be expected. The routes to the port are already very complicated.
Groups of Islamic states have already announced attacks because Moscow is involved in the Syrian war.
The Russian grain harvest usually begins in the second half of June. There are big overhangs from last year's harvest, which have to be shipped abroad.
