Russia's wheat acreage could be lower this year than in the previous year, the President of Russias grain Union, the Russian grain trade association said that Arkady Zlochevski. Currently wheat were sown on 9.3 million hectares versus 10.4 million hectares at the same time in the previous year. Zlochevsky said it was unlikely that the gap will close. Russian farmers reduced the sowing due to higher costs caused by the weaker ruble.
Zlochevski has announced that it is currently of a crop yield in the wheat by more than 55 million tons on Tuesday. Last year, about 60 million tons were harvested wheat.
