On the cash markets, especially in western and northern Germany, both buyers and sellers are currently holding back with inquiries and offers. Wheat prices have recently fallen slightly. On the other hand, wheat contracts on the Euronext/Matif in Paris went north again yesterday. The new front month of March climbed by EUR 3.50 to EUR 306.25/t. In particular, new concerns about the grain corridor and the situation in Ukraine are boosting wheat prices. The port city of Odessa was recently attacked with drones, and there was no electricity for a long time, meaning that no shipments could take place. At the same time, the winter weather is making shipping on the Black Sea more difficult, and some ports in Russia have already been closed. Wheat was also up on the CBoT. With the exception of the December date, which is hardly traded anymore, there was a double-digit increase for the other delivery dates. Here, too, the return of concerns about deliveries on the Black Sea is primarily responsible for the increase. US export shipments reached 218,000 tons in the last week. This met the market expectation at the lower end.Looking at the season as a whole, US exports are lagging behind last year at 11.1 million.
