Brazil is taking steps to counteract the bottleneck in soybeans and corn. The Government intends to reduce import taxes and discard the import controls on some staple foods, to stimulate production.
Shall be a minimum price for maize and import restrictions for soybeans and corn should be lifted so the Brazilian Minister of agriculture Baliro Maggi. Prices for soybeans, the most important staple food of the country have tripled this year, because there was a bottleneck at the harvest.
