Some chip factories can no longer meet their purchase obligations

With a lock-down-related utilization of 70 - 80% of the processing quantities compared to the previous year, most of the frit manufacturers in Western and Central Europe can currently hardly purchase the quantities of raw materials they have purchased in advance. On average, the factories in Holland cover 80% of their normal requirements with contract goods. So now the factories are in default with their purchase commitments and the prospect of being able to unload free raw materials in the factories in the foreseeable future is dwindling. The exports of potatoes from the various directions of use also fell short of expectations. So it is not surprising that potato prices are coming under further pressure. One can probably assume that the second EEX potato index this season will be lower the day after tomorrow than the 3.2 € / dt from the previous week. The November 20 futures contract will then be settled with the index on Thursday next week.
