Soybean harvest in Brazil is progressing

On the Euronext, rapeseed prices had to go through a price correction yesterday. For the leading May contract, 6.00 euros/tonne fell to 685.50 euros/tonne. Similarly, Canola futures in Winnipeg ended in the red yesterday. The new trading week started with moderate losses for the soy complex. Technical selling and profit-taking blame market participants for price action. In addition, many growing areas in South America receive more rainfall than expected and dampened the mood to buy. In Brazil, meanwhile, the soybean harvest is proceeding without any major complications. AgRural analysts report that around 24% was harvested. US soy exports reached 1.15 million tons as of Feb. 10. Overall, exports at 38.8 million tons are well below the previous year's level of 50.3 million tons.
