The agricultural consultancy strategy Grains today increased its forecast for EU common wheat exports for the current season. The reason for this is Germany's strong wheat exports. The forecast for France's wheat exports has been lowered due to poorer competitiveness.
In the monthly supply and demand report, Strategy Grains estimates the 2019/20 soft wheat exports (including Great Britain) outside the EU at 31.2 million tons. That is 600,000 tons more than in the previous month's estimate. For Germany, the forecast was increased from 3.4 million tons to 4.2 million tons, while France's common wheat exports are currently estimated at 12.8 million tons (previous month: 13.3 million tons).
