Strong US dollar and better sowing conditions weigh

It went south by EUR 2 per tonne on the last trading day of the past week. Maize sowing in the EU is progressing well for the most part. In France, 84% of the targeted areas have been cultivated. As a result, sowing there has gained enormous speed. At the CBoT, prices turned from initially green signs over the course of Friday. At the end of the session, there were significant losses on the exchange's scoreboards. The weather situation in the corn belt will improve in the coming days and corn sowing should pick up speed, which initially reduces price expectations. The Canadian statistics agency CanStat also reported increased corn stocks. Stocks are 1.1 million tons higher than in the previous year. Pre-market, corn prices are again posting losses.
