There are threats of crop losses in the Midwestern United States

The US corn futures reach a 2-month high this morning because weather forecasts are fueling fears that the harvest will falter. It is the largest price increase since July.
CBoT corn prices already rose 3.5% this week.
Meteorological services predict heavy rains in the western part of the Midwest next week. That drenched the ripe corn and soybean fields in Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota.
The result would be lower qualities and harvest losses.
