The state grain authority of Turkey, TMO, has published an international tender for the purchase of around 320,000 tons of feed barley, European traders have just announced.
The deadline for submitting price offers in the tender is 23 November.
Delivery is targeted for between January 3rd and January 28th in 2022.
A number of deliveries are being sought in the Turkish ports of Derince, Iskenderun, Mersin, Izmir, Bandirma, Tekirdag, Samsun and Trabzon.
Barley that is already in warehouses in Turkey can be offered in the tender. Traders said some exporters had shipped grain to Turkey in advance to avoid an increase in Russian grain export tax.
The tenders continue recent buoyant demand for grain imports from Turkey to ensure good domestic supplies after the country's crops suffered drought this summer.
In its last reported barley tender on October 26, the TMO purchased an estimated 235,000 tons.
