The lowest bid in the first round of a tender by Turkey's state grain authority TMO to buy 325,000 tons of animal feed corn is valued by traders this morning at $ 311.92 per ton of c & f.
The offer is said to have been submitted by the trading company Viterra for more than 50,000 tons for shipping to the port of Mersin.
No purchase has yet been reported, it said. The TMO traditionally conducts several rounds of negotiations for tenders in order to receive lower bids in each round.
A shipment for unloading in the Turkish ports of Derince, Iskenderun, Mersin, Izmir, Bandirma, Tekirdag, Samsun and Karasu is planned between December 20th and January 20th.
The TMO reserves the right, at its own discretion, to buy up to 5% more or less than the tender volume, and deliveries can already be offered in Turkey.
The tender continues Turkey's strong demand for grain after the crop suffered from drought this summer.
