Tönnies can slaughter again

The Tönnies meat group is allowed to slaughter again at its main site in Rheda-Wiedenbrück.
Around four weeks after the Corona outbreak in the company, the city administration lifted the ordered production stop with immediate effect. The reason given was that the risk of infection was low because the distance between the employees could be kept and the rooms could be ventilated. The application to restart the disassembly area is still being examined. Production at Tönnies can now be gradually ramped up again. The stop was originally scheduled to last until July 17th.
Sub-areas such as food production, technology and administration were allowed to start work after approval by the authorities. In June, more than 1,500 employees at Tönnies were infected with the corona virus. The company was then closed.
