Tornadoes, hail, and heavy rain thundered yesterday in Canada's cereal crops in the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Recurring front systems take the top a large harvest.
The Canadian federal environmental agency reported two tornadoes, which destroyed many buildings in southwestern of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Hailstones the size of tennis courts or golf balls pattered on wide parts of Southeast and central Saskatchewan down. Heavy rain storms in the region brought to extremely high temperatures.
Canada is one of the most important exporters of canola (rapeseed). Analysts expected still one of the best crops ever last week. This will be probably hardly even turn away even after this weather turbulence; the quality of the harvested crop has suffered greatly but in the last few weeks.
Also for the next week, still very high temperatures are predicted in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta are replaced by more honourable rains.
