The Turkish state grain authority TMO has started preliminary purchases of wheat as part of an international tender. A purchase of 50,000 tons was completed today, traders said.
The tender calls for around 385,000 tons and further purchases are expected later in the day.
The tonnages purchased by TMO in the tenders are preliminary and will have to be finally confirmed in the coming days. Purchases can be reduced or canceled entirely.
Initial purchases were made at an estimated $ 381.79 and $ 381.69 per ton of c&f for wheat with 13.5% protein for delivery to the port of Iskenderun.
