Corn on the EuronexT/Matif went up by 4 euros on Friday in the most traded March date. The front month closed with a settlement of 291.75 euros/t. In particular, the heightened tensions in Ukraine and the doubts expressed by Russian officials about the extension of the export deal also gave local corn contracts support. In the last week, corn gained 13.75 euros/t in March. The CBoT also went north. Here, too, higher wheat prices provided a tailwind, supported by rising crude oil prices. In addition, the grain exchange in Buenos Aires reported that currently only 20 percent of Argentina's field stocks are in good to very good condition. That is two percentage points less than in the previous week. More rain showers are still not in sight for Argentina. Chicago corn fuers are trending slightly weaker premarket today.
