Ukraine: Bakeries expect bread prices to rise

Rising prices for wheat, sunflower oil and sugar on the domestic market are leading to rising prices in Ukraine, reported Interfax Ukraine on Friday, quoting the Ukrainian Association of Bakers.
Ukraine is one of the world's largest producers and exporters of wheat and sunflower oil. Exports exceed domestic consumption.
The association said that the cost of wheat had already increased by 40% this year. In September they rose by 25%. Sugar prices rose 30% last week and sunflower oil prices increased 40% this year.
How high and from when the price of bread could rise was not stated. Bad weather has caused prices for almost all agricultural commodities in Ukraine to rise.
