Ukraine: export prices for wheat and corn firmer

Ukrainian export prices for wheat and corn have continued their upward trend, increasing USD 4 to USD 7 per ton last week thanks to the smaller harvest and high demand from importers, agricultural consultancy APK-Inform said on Monday.
Last month, high demand from importers and concerns about a delay in the sowing of winter wheat drove export prices for milling wheat in Ukraine to their highest level in two years.
Ukrainian prices for Black Sea wheat containing 12.5% protein were trading in a range of USD 254-258 per tonne of Black Sea FOB late last week, the consultancy said in a report.
For the inferior wheat with 11.5% protein, prices ranged between 252 and 256 USD per ton of FOB.
Meanwhile, corn prices rose $ 7, costing between $ 238 and $ 243 per tonne of FOB, APK-Inform reported.
Ukraine, one of the world's largest wheat producers and exporters, plans to export 17.5 million tons of wheat in the 2020/21 season (July to June).
The country, which accounts for around 16% of global grain exports, sold around 57 million euros in the 2019/20 season.Tons of grain to foreign buyers.
